“Arizona has over 100,000 active and abandoned mines. As Mine Inspector, my job is to keep you safe.”
– Mine Inspector Paul Marsh
Mine Inspector Paul Marsh’s Priorities

Accountability
As your Mine Inspector, I never forgot who I work for you—You! I am accountable to keep the people of Arizona safe by fairly and consistently inspecting the mining industry to make sure operators follow the rules.

Integrity
Government should be straightforward, honest, and transparent—both to citizens and members of industry. I do not believe in backroom deals or hiding the truth, even when the truth might be hard to hear.

Protecting Arizona
The rules enforced by the Arizona State Mine Inspector protect mine workers, mine operators, and the general public alike. All mines must follow the standards set in state law and held responsible when violations occur.
